Sudan has signed a huge defense deal worth $1.5 billion with Pakistan, marking one of the biggest military agreements between the two countries.

The deal was finalized during a visit by Sudan’s military delegation to Pakistan, where both sides agreed on the supply of different defense equipment.
Pakistan will deliver 10 K-8 Karakorum trainer and light attack aircraft, several types of UAVs including Shahpar-2, YIHA-III, MR-10K and Ababeel-5, as well as engines for MiG-21 fighter jets, 150 Mohafiz armored vehicles and air defense systems like HQ-9 and HQ-6.

Reports suggest that the size of the agreement indicates possible financial support from a third party, while Sudan continues to prioritize military solutions over peace negotiations in its ongoing conflict.
Analysts believe the first deliveries will likely include drones and armored vehicles, with the aircraft to follow in later stages. This agreement also strengthens the defense ties between Sudan and Pakistan and highlights Pakistan’s growing role as a defense exporter, particularly in Africa.
It also complements Pakistan’s increasing cooperation with Turkey, which is already an important ally of Sudan.
Many experts see this as more than just a defense export deal, with the possibility of future collaborations in training and technology. For further details on this agreement and the equipment involved, you can check Times of Islamabad.
